CCI SENT AN OPEN LETTER TO COUNCILORS AND MAYOR OF KALESIJA

After CCI published a press release in which we draw attention to audit reports on several irregularities in the municipality of Kalesija, today through an open letter we called upon councilors and the Mayor of Kalesija to take necessary actions.

We recall that audit reports together with audit recommendations, are one of the ways to improve the transparency and efficiency of spending of public funds in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Precisely following these reasons, it is necessary to seriously consider the auditor's findings and take measures to overcome the weaknesses and irregularities identified in the audit reports.

Centers for Civil Initiatives (CCI) call upon the municipal services, municipal council and Municipality of Kalesija to take actions following audit reports and the Law on Audit of Institutions in FBiH. Also above listed institutions need to send a response to the Audit Office of FBiH Institutions and the Ministry of Finance within 60 days. In their response they need to prepare a report outlining the actions taken by that institution to overcome weaknesses, irregularities, and violations identified in the audit report.
