TRAINING FOR JUDGES, PROSECUTORS AND INVESTIGATORS OF SIPA, ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PUBLIC PROCUREMENT IN THE PUBLIC AUDIT PROCESS
Organized by the Centers for Civil Initiatives and the Working Group for Improving the Audit Process, the first day of training for SIPA judges, prosecutors and investigators began today (Thursday, May 20). Training on the importance of public procurement in the public audit process is led by expert lecturers from the Public Procurement Agency.
In his address, Tarik Rahić, Director of the Public Procurement Agency, pointed out that public procurement is a continuous and complex process, and that is why it is worth organizing ongoing training and education in this field.
Jasmila Pašić, project manager of CCI, said that the cooperation between prosecutor's offices, courts and the Agency is an important segment in the field of control over the spending of public money. She also stressed the importance of continuous training of judges, prosecutors and SIPA investigators in the field of public audit in BiH.
The training is held within the project "More effective public audit to reduce corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina" which the Centers for Civil Initiatives (CCI) financed by Sweden. The project aims to contribute to a more responsible spending of budget funds and reduce corruption in public institutions in BiH.
Among others, the trainings are attended by: Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH Gordana Tadić, Chairwoman of the Commission for Finance and Budget of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Dušanka Majkić, Deputy Auditor General of BiH Jasmin Pilica.
